Ideal if you’re reducing or cutting your dairy intake, these green juice recipes offer a whole lot of plant-powered calcium. As well as the wonderful calcium content in kale, this green beauty contains a heap of potassium and magnesium, which have been shown to regulate blood pressure naturally.

Calci-yummy

Ginger is anti-everything: antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-allergy. Lemons have immune-boosting powers and are excellent as a digestive aid and liver cleanser. And girls, the apiole oil in parsley – which is a constituent of female sex hormone oestrogen – is also effective in regulating your monthly cycle. If you struggle with irregular periods, juicing pineapple and parsley offers a really powerful combination. So powerful in fact, it is NOT recommended if you’re pregnant! Serves 1.

Ingredients

Large handful of kale

Small handful of parsley

Chunk of broccoli stem

Small chunk of fennel

Small chunk of ginger

Small chunk of lemon

¼ pineapple

1 pear

Always wash your fruit and veg well. Run everything through the juicer.

Remember leaves juice best if they’re sandwiched between harder fruit and veg in the chute. Add ice and enjoy the benefits.

Kale for kids

This recipe is perfect for introducing children to green juices – it’s more palatable to their tiny tongues, thanks to the added fruit giving it a sweeter taste. Serves 1.

Ingredients

Small handful of kale

Half an apple

Small chunk of cucumber

Small chunk of lime

1 broccoli floret

Always wash your fruit and veg well. Run everything through the juicer. Serve with a straw to protect little teeth.
