The sun may be shining, but there’s still a chill in the air which is why we’ve tracked down the spring jackets you need in your life this month.

If, like me, you feel the cold, you’ll completely understand the need for a cover-up that will see you from from the milder months of April and May to early June and maybe even July.

If, however, like Jo the very thought of sporting extra layers when the sun shines makes you sweat, you may as well stop reading here.

Spring jackets

I’m a ‘turn the heating up high’, throw an extra jacket in the car (just in case) kinda girl and even as the weather starts to warm up, I’m not happy heading out without something to keep me warm should I end up in a draughty yoga class, a chilly gym changing room or bracing it through a less than balmy run.

So, if like me, you’ll always be the person grabbing that extra layer, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite sporty looks for spring:

  spring jackets

Tribe long-sleeve zip jacket

The gorgeously punchy blue of this super-soft zip up had us at hello. What better way to brighten up your spring wardrobe? We love the stitching detail and the fit is glorious. Plus, it features anatomical engineering, high breathe zones, and sweatwicking properties, as well as antibacterial fabric, making it a great technical jacket for running, cycling and warm ups/cool downs. A top-notch spring jacket!

Ilu Over-sized Dance Sweat

Cosy but super-chic, the vast neck/hood on this lightweight sweatshirt adds fashion points – so you can easily get away with wearing it all day post yoga sesh. Ok, so it’s not technically a spring jacket, but we think it does the job. We love that it’s light enough to fit under heavier outer jackets, but cosy enough to keep out the chill on its own if you’re dashing around town or find yourself in a draughty office/coffee shop.

Boudavida Cwtch Hoodie

Super soft to the touch, this is the perfect luxe hoodie for throwing on pre and post workout – but also for mooching around the house in style on a lazy Sunday. Again, not a jacket per se, but a spring cover-up that you’ll love whatever the weather. Its longer than average cut – which just covers your bum – also makes it a great top for pairing with leggings. It’s so light, but cosy, we can’t take bear to take it off. We’d like one for every day of the week!

Reebok spring jackets

Reebok Packable Hooded Windbreaker

Lightweight and packable this is a great jacket for stuffing in your bag when you’re not sure what the British weather is going to throw at you – an everyday essential then! The fabric is sheer enough to show off your outfit beneath, so its a great way to start showing a hint of that spring/summer wardrobe as a base layer. Top points go to the hood which is cavernous enough to keep even my curly locks dry when rain showers hit – spring jackets, sorted.

Finisterre Beren Bomber

We’re head over heels for this smart grey bomber. Warm, well-fitted and versatile it’s our spring must-have. Even better, the matt-touch marled fabric is 100% recycled and it’s water repellent. Throw it over your gym kit, team it with black skinnies for a pop to the shops or pack it in your overnight bag for spring weekends in countryside. Spring jackets n your shopping list? Pop this at the top.

spring jackets

Herschel rain jacket

A great all- rounder of spring cover up, this Herschel Jacket is great as a running outer layer or throw on jacket for heading to the gym when the weather starts to turn. We love the colour combo and flattering cut. Snap it up for spring!

Wanderer top

Not all who wander are lost… or so the saying goes. Embrace your inner wanderer with this long sleeve cover-up. The roomy fit makes it great as a yoga warm up option – we almost didn’t want to take it off – and it does the gym-to-coffee (and beyond!) set up with ease. It’s quite a baggy fit, so if you don’t want to end up with too much material it might be worth going down a size.
