Reebok’s new PureMove Bra – why we’re loving everything about it and you should too!

Did you know 50 percent of women experience breast pain while working out and 20 per cent of women don’t work out because they don’t have the right sports bra. Well thankfully this is set to change thanks to Reebok’s new PureMove Bra.

Female first
We’re undeniably big Reebok fans, we’ve been rocking its stylish, flattering, technical collections for quite some time – probably since Reebok classics first came around! We love the female-forward focus the brand has developed over the past few years, especially the evolution of its Be More Human campaign. Yes, we’re unashamed fan girls.

The problem with sports bras
Sports bras are probably one of the most important parts of our workout kit but two things usually happen: 1. We can’t find one that fits; 2. We’ve been wearing the same (now grey one) for way too long and it basically offers no support.

Not only does wearing the right sports bra feel a whole lot nicer, a well-fitting bra can actually help improve your range of motion, as your boobs are where they’re meant to be.

If you’ve got small boobs you might think you don’t need to wear a sports bra, but that’s not the case! Supporting your girls while you work out is key to a more enjoyable, pain-free workout. Even A cup boobs can move up to 4cm during exercise, with G cups moving up to 16cm! Breast tissue is only supported by skin and the Cooper’s ligament, and excessive breast movement can stretch this ligament.

Taking inspiration from NASA, yes NASA!
The new PureMove sports bra features new reactive technology that uniquely responds and adapts to movement, ensuring you receive a customised amount of support for a variety of exercises.

Key to the bra’s new motion sense technology is a combination of a performance-based fabric with Sheer Thickening Fluid (STF). This is a gel-like solution, previously incorporated into spacesuits, that takes a liquid form when in a still or slow-moving state and antithetically stiffens and solidifies when moving at a higher momentum. As a result, the bra stretches less with high impact movements while promising comfort during lower intensity activities, meaning you can confidently wear the bra for a variety of exercises with the correct support.

Your second-skin bra
During it’s three-year odyssey to create a next generation bra, Reebok conducted experiments at The University of Delaware to test breast movement using biomechanics. This involved covering the bra in markers to collect data of breast movement, assuming that more fabric will be needed to support. However, to their astonishment they discovered that the most supported bra was only one layer of fabric and displayed half the amount of movement compared to other prototypes, including their Power Bra. In conclusion, a second-skin like design that creates a barely-there feel!

‘The minimalist design of the bra may seem deceiving when you first hold it, but you should not confuse this for lack of support or technology. Every single detail is intentional and directly informed by years of our testing and research,’ says Danielle Witek, Senior Innovation Apparel Designer at Reebok. The PureMove bra excels breathable perforations located in front and back to keep you cool as well as comfortable by it’s moulded front panel that emphasizes a second-skin fit.

Find your perfect size
What’s more, Reebok understands the struggles of finding a sports bra that fits well. Rather than saturating small, medium and large, Reebok’s recognition that sports bras cannot be available in just three sizes has lead them to cater PureMove bra in 10 unique variations. Ultimately, this allows a greater range of women to enjoy the benefits of the bra.

Reebok’s PureMove bra is available exclusively on Reebok.com for £44.95. Complete the look with additional sportswear from Reebok’s FW18 Hero Bra collection.
