3. Kite surfing

Fast and fun, kite surfing combines wakeboarding, windsurfingsurfingparagliding, and gymnastics into one extreme sport. It provides an adrenaline-packed workout, toning your whole body in record time. You could burn up to 600 calories an hour! While you engage your lower body to balance on the board, you also work your chest, arms, shoulders, back and core to keep yourself upright and guide the kite as you power through the waves. The stronger your core, the easier learning to kitesurf can be – so train with stabilising moves such as the plank. One of the best places to go kite surfing is at Poole Harbour in Dorset, where you can take a lesson at The Water Sports Academy. Advanced kite surfers can use the seaside, while beginners or intermediates learn and improve in the shallower areas of the harbour.
