Two tablespoons of these little wonder seeds provide approximately 4g protein, 5g brain-boosting omega-3 fatty acids, 250mg calcium for strong bones, hair and nails, and 10g fibre for better digestion. If that’s not enough to convince you, these little gems also hold 9-12 times their weight in water, so they are both incredibly nutrient-rich and make you feel fuller for longer. If you’re new to transitioning away from refined sugars you may like to add a little maple syrup or Manuka honey to your milk for sweetness. Makes 1.
Spoon the chia seeds and pinch of cinnamon into a glass of almond milk and stir. Leave to set (usually takes around an hour), stirring every now and again to ensure the seeds expand evenly.
