4. MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL The gym newbie has not yet mastered the balance of perfect workout make-up. The ultimate aim is a make-under. That ‘natural’ glow that covers the black circles and bags under your eyes and a little colour in the cheeks that says I am fit and healthy and have had my 5-a-day by 6.30am. Instead a newbie fails to realise the HIIT class was in fact going to leave her doing her best Alice Cooper impression within 20 seconds. When you peel yourself up from your final burpee and look in one of the way too many mirrors you end the class looking like the famous Scream painting (Edvard Munch – you know the one). Speaking of mirrors. Why? Why so many? Everywhere. Why!?
