4. Swap sour cream for Greek yoghurt

We Heart Living - 5 ways to upgrade your fridge

Greek yoghurt tends to have far fewer calories and fat than mayonnaise or sour cream, but its consistency is similar. In fact ‘sour cream is alarmingly high in calories and fat, with 86kcal and 8.4g fat per heaped tablespoon.’ Whereas ‘low-fat yoghurt gives the same tangy taste, but with just 40kcal and 0.4g fat,’ tells Carina. So why not make the swap?

Top tip: Next time a recipe calls for sour cream try using yoghurt instead. You may way want to play around with some spices and seasonings, but by switching, you can cut out the fat while adding an extra punch of protein.
