Devout foodies listen up – we have 3 spring food trends you’ll love to get your teeth into, from Harriet Emily

Whether they boost your metabolism, help fight flu or combat any ‘naughty’ cravings, spring seems to be the time for new food trends

With ‘diet’ season kicking off the year and hanging into spring, we always see an influx of new food products and superfoods. Whether they boost your metabolism, help fight flu or combat any ‘naughty’ cravings, spring seems to be the time for new food trends. As a self confessed foodie, I love this time of year as it means I get to try lots of new and exciting ingredients. So, no matter if they’re just a fad, or become a new household staple, these are my three favourite foods trending this Spring.

1. Coconut yoghurt

If you’re dairy free, vegan or just love coconuts, then this product will certainly become your new food obsession. I love coconuts and this wonderful invention is my current obsession. Who knew that a food as simple as a coconut could be adapted into so many things? It’s used to make oil, butter, flour, sugar – now, yoghurt. Companies like Coyo and the Coconut Collaborative produce their delicious plain yoghurts or with natural fruit compotes – perfect for healthy breakfasts or snacks. Being so rich and creamy, these pots of delights are also perfect for baking cakes, making ice cream or whipping into dips! As the coconut craze continues to boom, so does the demand for these products. So, you can now buy these in retailers such as Waitrose, Ocado, Tesco and numerous health stores. Yay!
