Stay-young secret

Want to fight wrinkles? Us too! This stay-young secret had us upping our intake of omega-3 rich fish immediately!

Researchers at Ohio State University found that omega-3 not only boosts heart health, but also slows down the body’s ageing process. Your white blood cells have something called telomeres which progressively shorten as you age. The omega-3 rich fish oil helps increase the length of telomeres, which means that you can look younger for longer.

Fish oil fights inflammation, which is at the root of many age-related health problems. Omega-3 supplementation also reduces oxidative stress, which is caused by high amounts of free radicals in the blood.

The combined positive effects of fish oil can help you live a healthier life, with a lower risk to a host of diseases that are typically associated with aging, such as heart diseases, arthritis, Alzheimer’s, and Type II diabetes. Plus, you’ll have less wrinkles. It’s win, win for us!

Try and get your omega-3 fix from your diet, aim to include two portions of oily fish such as salmon, tuna, anchovies, sardines, and mackerel in your weekly diet. If you’re not a fishy fan, you can take omega-3 in a supplement form. We’re big fans of Healthspan’s omega-3 range.
