So, working out with a hangover, big no-no, or the only way to feel better?
There are two schools of thought on this one, however, I firmly believe that you should work out when you have a hangover. When you work up a good sweat, you are able to release a lot of the toxins from your body. Here are some tips for working out, ‘the morning after!’
1. Drink a lot of water before, during, and after. Drinking dehydrates you, hence the headache, so you will need to drink more water than usual.
2. Drink a cup of coffee before your work out. That cup of coffee will not only help you wake up but will fire up your metabolism.
3. Make sure you eat before you work out. You may want to eat something like oatmeal or eggs. Eggs have cysteine, a substance that can help break down acetaldehyde, a toxin associated with alcohol metabolism and hangovers.
4. Take a cold shower, it’ll make you feel more alert.
5. Don’t push too hard. Do things like yoga, light aerobics, swimming and Pilates rather than a HIIT session or run.
6. Why not try some of these awesome hangover cures, too?
