The one thing I’ve always found essential to staying on the right track food-wise is making sure I have the right ingredients to hand to create healthy, nutritious meals. How easy is it to come home from work, look through the bare cupboards and conjure up an excuse to order takeout? Keep these 5 storeroom staples to hand and pop goes the cop-out.
Seeds
Sprinkled on salads, stirred through granola or blended into creamy nut smoothies, seeds offer a simple, nutritious boost to so many meals. My favourites are sunflower, pumpkin, chia and flaxseeds. Their healthy omega fatty acids content is fantastic and ensures I’m getting all the essential oils I need. Chia seeds are one of my favourites at the moment. A couple of tablespoons of these beauties stirred through a glass of almond milk with a pinch of ground cinnamon makes the most amazing pudding.
