We Heart Living - The world’s fittest cities

Tel Aviv, Israel

The youthful, laid-back coastal city of Tel Aviv is a great holiday option if you want to hit the beach between activities. Start the day on foot or bike exploring the small alleyways and galleries of Tel Aviv’s art hub, Neve Tzedek or take a guided walking tour of the trendy neighbourhood of Sarona.  In the afternoon visit the beach and join in with a game of matkot – a racquet-and-ball game played in pairs -, go surfing or enjoy some beachfront yoga. At night join the Rollers for a midnight rollerblading excursion of the city.

Naama Oryan-Kaplan, director of the UK and Ireland for the Israel Government Tourist Office said:

‘Tel Aviv is known as the city that never sleeps and as much as this is true and we can promise a good time, it is also known to locals for its fitness and healthy lifestyle that surrounds it. Tel Aviv boasts marathons by day or by night! Mass city cycling and roller blading events, beachfront yoga, volleyball competitions and paddle tennis, the list is endless. It’s the perfect place for an active city break.’
