Summer can leave us feeling tired and worn out, so follow our five-step plan to beating burnout and tell us, is this the secret to re-energising? We certainly think so!

Have an early night

It might sound obvious but there’s nothing like a good night’s sleep to recharge your batteries. Sleep is not only key to re-energising you physically, but there are all sorts of benefits that you can get out of a good kip. A longer snooze has been proven to improve memory and creativity! An early night with a good book is the perfect way to ensure you wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day.

Eat more fruit and veg

One of the reasons why you might be feeling burnt out could be that you aren’t getting enough vitamins and nutrients from your diet. A sure-fire way to make you feel full of beans is to make a smoothie or juice in the morning before work. Not only will the fruit and veg give your morning a healthy start, it will keep you hydrated during the day and fuller for longer. There’s something satisfying about making your own smoothie too, especially as you know exactly what goes in it, and into your body.

A long, hot bath

Soak your troubles away with a nice long bath. Candles light, music on. Hot water is a great way of soothing your body and relaxing your muscles, particularly after a long day or a hard work out. Buy yourself some luxurious bubble bath and make time for you with a good old pampering.

Try a new dance/fitness class

Exercise is proven to release endorphins and improve your mood almost instantly. Dance in particular is a great way of re-energising, improving your memory and learning some sweet moves. Try something new that you wouldn’t imagine yourself doing before. A salsa or hip-hop class could be just what you need to gain more energy and confidence. And you never know who you might meet!

Make time for friends

There’s nothing that instantly lifts your mood like seeing your mates. Whether they offer a shoulder to cry on or make you laugh, they’ll be there for you. Talking about anything that’s making you feel extra tired or worn out is also a great way of relieving stress and generally improving your wellbeing.
