We Heart Living - International Women's Day

Emma Watson
Famous for playing Hermione in Harry Potter, but now using her clout to weave a new kind of magic. Watson has visited Bangladesh and Zambia to promote education for girls, and in July last year, she was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. Her voice shook as she addressed the UN headquarters last year to launch the campaign HeForShe, which supports men getting behind gender equality, but her message was clear and powerful. She spoke about how feminism was a drive for equal rights and opportunities as opposed to ‘man-hating’. Watson also spoke about gender equality at Davos’s World Economic Forum in January.
