An alternative night out

Sick of waking up feeling groggy, or worse, hungover? It’s time to try something new. Meditation guru Will Williams is running a series of events perfect for an alternative night out to going to the pub and feeling worse for wear the next day.

The aim of The Gathering is to provide a healthy, relaxing and informative night so that people can have fun without suffering from a hangover the next day. Remember what that feels like?!

Will, founder of Will Williams Meditation, previously worked in the music industry, so The Gathering is his way of combining his two loves: music and meditation, in the most calming way possible. The events are a brilliant mix of the two, with films and food thrown in. It’s the ideal night for those who feel they need to have an evening to let their stresses fall to the side.

At previous events, they’ve had guest appearances from Hemsley + Hemsley, who spoke about healthy eating and how to improve wellbeing, and their next event will involve a speech and Q&A with comedienne Ruby Wax to talk about her experiences with mental health issues.

Williams also performs a meditative experience for the audience himself, to ensure that they leave the event feeling chilled out and ready to face the next day. There is nutritious food provided (food makes everything better!), with unlimited Pukka tea served throughout the evening, too.

Those who attend can also enjoy live performances from musicians such as Lucy Rose and Ethan Johns, while socialising with their friends. This evening is a great way to dip your toe in the water with a small example of meditation, with no previous experience needed to get the full calming effect. And let’s face it – nothing feels better than waking up the next morning hangover-free!

Each event is held at Cecil Sharp House in Camden, NW1, and the next event – with guest speaker Ruby Wax and music from Ethan Johns – is 15 November at 7pm.
