‘If I train in the morning it sets me up for a positive day ahead’
Helle Hammonds is an ex-Barry’s Bootcamp PT turned fitness entrepreneur, who now works her sculpted ass off teaching seven days a week at her own development, GymClass. She’s a firm believer in the fact that those who get up early are more likely to be successful in their day. However, good news for duvet-hoggers: Helle also advocates the benefits of an occasional lie-in for recovery…the key word here being occasionally!
To set herself up for a positive and healthy day, Helle likes to fit in a morning workout first thing. She says this makes her more likely to make better food choices throughout the day. We recommend doing the same; even 20 minutes of HIIT or a morning swim can make all the difference to your mindset for the rest of the day.
At WHL we appreciate that all bodies are different, and a hearty breakfast just doesn’t cut it for everyone. Helle finds a milky coffee upon waking more than enough, but for some a more protein-rich pre-workout snack might be more beneficial. Helle recommends green shakes containing spinach, strawberries, coconut water, protein powder and ice for a refreshing finish.
