Daydreaming of faraway lands? Here’s 10 ways you know you need a holiday…

When was the last time you travelled abroad? If it takes you more than a few moments to answer that question, then perhaps it’s time to find your passport. The summer may be a distant memory, but if you’re desperately in need of a break, then there’s no time like the present to go on vacation. Here’s our checklist of 10 ways you know you need a holiday…

Your dream destination is saved as your screensaver

Saving your dream holiday destination as your screensaver is both a blessing and a curse. You’re able to wistfully look at it every day, while also being constantly reminded that you’re not there. Hopefully one day you can save your screensaver as that same photo, but this time with you in it as well.

#ThrowbackThursday is all about the holiday pics

#ThrowbackThursday is the perfect excuse to delve into the memory files and pick out your favourite holiday pics to share with the world. Some of your friends may become slightly exasperated with the constant nostalgia, but all they need to do is whisk you away for a fun-filled trip for your next birthday. Problem solved!

Daydreaming is your favourite hobby

If you had a penny for the number of times you’ve become distracted during a meeting, or completely lost track of a conversation because you were transported to far-off lands, you’d be millionaire. It’s difficult trying to contain your wanderlust when you’re so desperately in need of a holiday.

Work has taken over your life

Your job takes up the majority of your time. When you’re not in the office, you’re always whipping your phone out to check your work emails. If this sounds familiar, then it’s time for you to break free. Maybe even venture somewhere on your holiday where there’s no Wi-Fi. Live your life on the edge!

You have no motivation

Just because you’re working long hours doesn’t necessarily mean you’re motivated. Sometimes it can feel as though you’ve been switched on automatic mode and are just going about your day robotically with no enthusiasm whatsoever. It may be a good idea to inject some excitement into your life by booking a trip away!

At the weekends, you go all out

When you haven’t been on holiday in a while, it can feel as though the weekend is the closest thing you have to a vacation. You don’t just go out – you go out out. It’s so much fun to let loose, but it’s not so pleasant dealing with the aftermath on Monday morning when you’ve had a particularly heavy weekend.

You’re severely lacking in vitamin D

When was the last time you truly appreciated the sun? As lovely as it is to soak in the sun on a sandy beach with a Piña Colada in hand, it’s also beneficial for your body to have its fair share of vitamin D. Vitamin D is essential for maintaining strong bones. Plus, it’s always nice coming home from holiday with a glowing tan!

You don’t wake up in the best of moods

Waking up happy in the morning is so much easier when you cannot wait to start the day. You’re far more likely to wake up in a good mood if you’re on your way to take a dip in the pool or to go for a leisurely ski down the slopes. A holiday is just what you need to turn that frown upside down!

The idea of a healthy lifestyle has gone out the window

Every spring everyone rushes back to the gym and vows to be healthy just in time for their summer holidays. However, when you don’t have a vacation booked, that motivation to be fit and healthy can easily disappear. You should lead a healthy lifestyle all year round, but a holiday could be give you the kick you need.

You can’t remember the last time you went holiday shopping

Your bikini drawer is gathering dust and your sun creams are all out of date. These are pretty blatant signs that it’s been too long since you last went on holiday. Grab your sunnies, head out the door and straight to the airport!
