Racing around buying presents, visiting friends, delivering cards and stocking up on essentials can mean that we forget to eat regular meals, making that third mince pie all the more appealing. With all the snacks on offer, it can be easy to forgo the usual routine, instead diving into the crisp bowl when in need of an energy boost. Nutritionist Louise Pyne knows how much of a challenge it can be to eat healthily when you’re always on the go, and recommends that you ‘make sure you stash your bag with lots of healthy snacks to avoid temptation when you’re out and about. A packet of raw nuts and seeds, low-GI fruit like apples and pears and oatcakes will fit the bill nicely.’
