Party season is upon us ladies, and that means one thing: we all want to look fabulous with a capital F! You may have the dress, the heels and that gorgeous little clutch, but do you have the bright, white smile? Our teeth undergo a lot every single day – from what we eat to what we drink, it all has an impact on our pearly whites and over time our teeth can look stained, discoloured and visibly weaker. But with professional tooth whitening costing ‘an arm and a leg’, it’s not something we can all achieve. Or is it?

Swiss oral health brand Curaprox is launching two new charcoal-based toothpastes (bear with) and they may well be the answer to all of our toothy prayers! ‘Black is White’ and ‘White is Black’ will effectively strengthen and whiten your teeth the natural way.

If you don’t believe us, here’s the proof behind the pud. Unlike typical whitening toothpastes that contain a whole load of abrasive nasties that erode the tooth enamel, ‘Black is White’ and ‘White is Black’ use activated carbon to gently absorb and remove stain particles that discolour teeth, without taking your enamel with it, leaving you with healthy, naturally white teeth. In addition, a blue optical filter reduces yellow discolouration while enzymes in the formula enhance antibacterial and antiviral function, maximising oral health and preventing tooth decay. So not only are your teeth going to look better, they’re also going feel better in the long run, too. And if that wasn’t enough, another mineral within the formula, Hydroxyapatite, effectively fills exposed holes in the tooth’s surface (holes that are known to cause pain and sensitivity) and helps to remineralise the enamel, protects teeth and creates a pearly shine. Basically, you need it in your life.

Dr Matthias Mütsch, developer of the toothpastes said: ‘We are extremely excited to introduce ‘Black is White’’ and ‘White is Black’ to our portfolio. In comparison to regular toothpastes, these two new products have a lower Relative Dentin Abrasivity setting them apart from existing products in the market. This, along with the introduction of activated carbon into the formula will remove stains without abrading the enamel.’

And if the idea of putting charcoal in your mouth is not doing it for you, don’t worry! The toothpaste is available in two refreshing flavours, mild mint (White is Black) and mint with citrus (Black is White). The pack also includes a Black is White limited edition CS 5460 ultra-soft toothbrush, which has special technology – to give you that super clean feeling without having an aggressive and eroding impact on your teeth, meaning you can give your teeth the best pre-Christmas deep clean they’ve ever had.

Black is White and White is Black are available at curaprox.co.uk and professional dentists for £19.95. Happy whitening!
