Spa treatments from around the world

Turkish hammam

Where did it originate?

The Turkish hammam was especially popular during the Victorian era as a method of cleaning the body and relaxing. However, the tradition of the Turkish bath has been around for a very long time, since before the arrival of the Turks in Anatolia.

What is it?

The Turkish hammam is best described as a combination between a sauna and an ancient Roman bath. Over time, the tradition of the Turkish bath hammam has become an indulgent experience, consisting of a steam session, full body scrubbing and a traditional bubble soap massage.

Where can you get it?
