We love summer, we love holidays and we love parties! But if you’re an active bod or sun seeker, going from gym class to party or beach to bar can be challenging when it come to your hair. That sweaty mop just won’t do when you’re sipping mojitos in the sunshine. So we’ve put together our guide to speedy and stylish hair options with our ‘love is in the hair’ top tips

Fun buns

A bun is a life-saver when it comes to taming unruly hair – and is a fantastic option if you don’t have time to wash and blowdry. For a low-key textured look, perfect for the beach bar or an outdoor summer party, spritz your hair with dry shampoo – see below – then pull up into a high, but loose pony. If you’ve got lots of hair and lots of volume – or very curly hair – arrange the lose ends into a scruffy bun right on the top of your head. Simply add a cute hair accessory or some glam drop earrings to give the look a bit of polish. For a more glam look, really scrape hair back, slick with a shine spray – see below – and tie in a high pony. Then, brush the pony to get hair as smooth as possible and using a doughnut create a neat and tidy bun.

Twist and shout
For a more stylised look, plaits are the perfect go-to option for your hair rescue mission. Plait the front sections and pin back to give a little structure to beachy waves. Sport a messy side plait with some pretty earrings to control longer lengths with ease. Or French plait both sides and tie in a bun at the nape of the neck for an evening look that will give even the sorriest looking locks a fab evening option.

Soak it up
