It’s time to kit yourself out for the spring showers. Summer is just around the corner, but we’re never far away from a grey cloud or two. You never know what you’re going to get with the unpredictability of the British weather. Either way this shouldn’t stop you from keeping your style cred – all it takes is a little preparation for any sudden spring showers. Here are our top 5 essentials that’ll get you through a rainy day.

Trench coat
Now that it’s a little warmer you might want to swap your winter coat for a trench coat, which is lighter than your usual winter coat but warm enough for the weather. Trench coats are also waterproof, so you can stay dry and feel comfortable through those rainy days. With a wide range of choice you can easily be stylish and prepared for the outdoor weather, so there’s no excuse to get out.

Wellies
Wellies are great for protecting your soles from puddles, mud, spills – and well, just about anything liquid. They may not necessarily be the first shoes you think of when deciding how to look stylish in your day, but you don’t have to look silly wearing them. Hunter boots are a favourite when it comes to stylish wellies, with different designs for different occasions and impact, they are definitely made to make your feet look good while protecting you against any showers. Just remember to leave your wet shoes at the door.

Umbrella
Always carrying a brolly comes in good use, especially when you don’t know how the day will turn out. It’ll save you from feeling damp and uncomfortable if you get caught in the rain. We think it’s safe to say every umbrella does the same job, but it’s still an accessory and it’s still nice to have one that catches attention. Bright colours such as pink or turquoise, or patterned colours should do the job.

Frizz serum
Rain can cause changes in humidity levels, which then causes your hair strands to expand and reshape. When you want to keep your hair under control it needs hydration, and hair frizz serum is just the stuff you need to tame your locks. Wash your mane with your favourite shampoo and conditioner, blow-dry it close to the cuticles, and apply serum before you wrap your hair with a silk scarf – that should do the job in making your hair frizz-free.

Hair band
Finally, after taming your mane, you may want to add a headband to keep your locks looking good. It might be small, but it’s the must-have accessory to stay stylish on wet days.
