French braid

This classic, no-nonsense braid is what the Swedes call a ‘baked in plait’ because you’re braiding the three strands over-hand to give it that enfolded look. If you’re worried about failing to get it dead centre, why not go deliberately off-piste by starting from a side parting, braiding along your forehead and down, for a non-conformist side plait?
