If you’re curious as to what all the fuss is about, here are 5 reasons to try organic skincare. Be prepared to see the difference!

You may have noticed more and more organic skincare products emerging and feel tempted to try these little gems of nature. But you’ve used your regular beauty products for so long, why change? After all, change is scary; change means venturing into the unknown and staying with what you already know is safe… But is it? Do you really know what’s in your current products and are they really safe? If you want to improve your skin and overall health, read on. I will give you five good reasons to try organic skincare and explain the benefits it can bring, then you can decide for yourself if you consider change as a gamble.

  1. They’re chemical-free!

Look on that back of your beauty products: how many man-made ingredients and chemicals are listed? This is what you are applying on to your body and face every day, and it is being absorbed into your bloodstream. Since Organic has strict standards towards the inclusion of chemicals (simply: none included), and you will immediately be giving your health a boost by eradicating them.

  1. You can help reduce pollution

Sustaining the environment makes for a healthy place to live for ourselves, our children and so on. Using organic brings peace of mind that you are supporting the environment by allowing wildlife to play their natural role, helping preserve soils and rotate crops. Organic farmers do not use pesticides, and this means the land, air and water is not being polluted as a result. We breathe the air, we drink the water, we eat the food… Our beauty doesn’t stop at what we put on our skin – the environment has a huge influence. The good news is, we can influence the environment for the better by choosing organic. It’s a virtuous circle.

  1. Your skin won’t suffocate

Organics are derived from the earth and plants. The ingredients selected for organic skincare work with your skin to enhance it, not against it by masking, covering or suffocating the surface like regular products do. All too familiar chemicals such as benzyl salicylate and propylene glycol, which are commonly found in mainstream products and known as skin-absorbing enhancers, make it easier for all the other ingredients to penetrate the skin on a deeper level, including the undesirables. Organic means you can avoid these.

  1. Your hormones remain undisrupted

Endocrine disruptors can artificially disrupt your body’s balance and can alter, block and change the way hormones move throughout your body. Common culprits to look out for include: parabens, diethyl phthalates, and oxybenzone. None of which are found in organic products.

  1. They are kinder to sensitive skin

Anybody can have a reaction to anything, be it man-made or natural. But you are far less likely to have a reaction to organic skincare because it doesn’t include harsh ingredients. Organics soothe and nourish rather than deplete and irritate. So if you have sensitive skin, switching to organic could be the best move you make.
