Red-faced shame

Usually a facial leaves me feeling blissed out and glowing. But sometimes Things Go Wrong. Like the time a hard-core extractionist went to work at my face in a salon in Stockholm with the result that I, to use her words, “looked like a slice of spotty salami” afterwards. Obviously I had a big party to go to that night – and now I looked like a cross-section of sausage. When I’d finished crying (NB, sobbing doesn’t help a red face), I sprayed my face with the wonderfully cooling and soothing Avène Eau Thermal Water Spray (£3.15 for 50ml). I then applied Lyonsleaf’s Healing Calendula Cream (£14.95), which is all-natural, award-winning and brilliant – and lay down with an icepack on my eyes listening to self-pity music for 20 minutes. Then I loaded up on foundation, concealer and powder and partied like one hot chorizo.
