Spring is fast approaching and we can’t wait for the season of flowers to be here! These 3 spring lip trends are the perfect way to look as fresh-faced as the blooming flowers!

A slick of vibrant colour can completely transform a look and it has the power to make you look put-together in an instant

A gorgeous lippie is a staple in any woman’s make-up bag. It’s super speedy to apply and a slick of vibrant colour can completely transform a look and it has the power to make you look put-together in an instant. These are three of our favourite lip trends for spring. Time to pucker up!

1. Nude

Kylie Jenner has owned the nude lip look and as you probably know, it’s been the talk of the town, or maybe the world. Neutral lips are a safe and subtle option, they complement all skin tones and make your teeth look whiter than other shades of lipstick.

When choosing your nude shade make sure you don’t choose one too dark or too light for your skin tone, especially if you’re really going for a natural shade that lacks a pinky tone. If you go too light it can look a little freaky, and if it’s too dark it will start to look more brown that nude.

Firstly apply Natural Collection Lip Lines Pencil in Almond all over the lips to provide a stay-put base for the lipstick. Just a line around the outside of your lips can look quite unnatural. For the lipstick try bareMinerals Modern Pop Marvelous Moxie Lipstick and that’s your matte nude lip look complete.

If you want a glossy finish try Shu Uemura Gloss Unlimited in GB 20 G MTS.

2. Flame

Who doesn’t love a red lip look, it’s the key ingredient for adding going-out-glam to any look. Usually we associate the red lip look with winter but why not mix things up a bit and rock in it spring. That’s what all the spring/summer fashion shows were doing, including Topshop Unique! During spring and summer it’s too hot for excessive foundation, it’s weather that’s better suited to BB and CC creams. This kind of natural skin complements stand-outish natural lipstick well: simple skin, loud lips. We like!

For iconic red lips try MAC Lip Pencil in Redd followed with using Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Colour in Pirate.

TIP
To prevent the red lipstick bleeding around your mouth prime the lips first with a concealer. We love Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer.

3. Vibrant pink

If you find red too much try working a vibrant pink shade in candy or fushia this spring. It was another look all over the spring/summer 2015 catwalks and we can see why, it’s so pretty!

As it’s a bright colour make sure you perfect this look! No applying in the back of a taxi, take the time to apply carefully. Prime the lips with a dab of colour and accurately use your lip liner. We recommend Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lipliner followed with Mac Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick. We love the bold hot pink shade!

For precision apply using a lip brush like the Real Techniques retractable lip brush.
