In a nutshell:
A high street brand venturing into the world of activewear isn’t new, but Jack Wills seems to have hit the nail on the head: its pretty garments actually hold up.
Why we like it:
We know what you’re thinking: ‘sporting goods’ (its choice of words, not ours) from Jack Wills are going to be just a pretty face; fashion over function; athleisure not activewear. Our hands are up, we were wrong.
Jack Wills’ latest sporting offering is stylish, yes, but not so it compromises on function. It’s technical, so much so that their garments are, in fact, made in the same factory that also produces technical kit for thousands of Olympic athletes.
We tried the Abwell Gymwear Tank Top, the Ashcott Gymwear Racerback Tank, the Linden Sports Bra and the Elmgate Gym Leggings. Both tanks do what they say on the tin, lightweight, moisture-wicking, anti-bacterial.
The sports bra could be slightly more supportive, but, made from a new generation Lycra fibre, it fits snugly, keeps its shape and dries quickly post-wash.
The leggings shined the most: high waisted and completely seamless with a bonded waistband means unrivalled levels of comfort (no chafing here) and no awkward see-through moments when you go for that squat. All in all, we’re impressed.
The details:
-Manages moisture
-Thermal protection
-Quick drying
-Made in Portugal
Our rating: Four out of five
