Chia Mocha
This chia mocha recipe will warm the cockles of your heart this winter. So, snuggle by the fireplace with a chia mocha mug in hand.
This drink is a warm, delicious winter treat that’s perfect for those cool afternoons or evenings and positively simple to make. Coconut oil and milk gives this mocha a creamy, frothy texture without dairy.
Serves 2-3 mugs.
This recipe is also vegan and gluten free
Ingredients
500ml brewed coffee (instant or percolated coffee)
100ml coconut milk
1 tablespoon cacao powder
A tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon coconut oil
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoon agave syrup or honey
Method
First, brew the coffee. For instant coffee, measure 2 tablespoons of instant coffee to 500ml boiling water. For percolated coffee, also measure 2 tablespoons of ground coffee to 500ml boiling water. However, if you would like a stronger coffee flavour, add an extra tablespoon.
Put all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor as soon as the coffee is ready. Then, blend until all ingredients are combined and a frothy texture is created.
When you’re finished, pour the chia mocha into mugs and enjoy your warm drink.
