Yoga – with a twist
Yoga is absolutely loaded with benefits – for the mind, body, and soul. It builds muscle strength, increases flexibility, boosts blood flow and improves breathing. It also helps to bring mental clarity and focus, syncing the body with the mind and promoting a sense of calmness often lacking in today’s busy world. No longer is it just a choice of gentle hatha versus powerful ashtanga either. You can try Voga (yoga combined with Madonna’s Vogue), boxing yoga, and even yoga dating. Natalie runs sunrise and sunset classes in various locations across London, drawing influences from Iyengar, ashtanga, and anusara yoga, as well as capoeira. Founder of True Yoga Collective, Natalie would encourage people to take up yoga in 2015 as ‘Yoga is a wonderful way to improve your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. With regular practice your body becomes fit, toned and flexible, and every system of your body will function better. In addition, your mind becomes calmer and clearer, and you’ll find you connect better with yourself and with others, making you a happier, more fulfilled, and even a nicer person.’
