5. Swap dance classes for Punk Rope
‘Punk Rope is a playful cross between recess and bootcamp,’ says the founder, Tim Haft. The new phenomenon which operates across the states has just launched in the UK, and combines rope-jumping with fitness games and themed workouts – fun! You don’t have to be a skipping queen either because no rope-jumping skill is required for this class. It’s also ‘NOT 60 minutes of rope jumping. That would be a yawn,’ says Tim.
A typical 55-minute class is comprised of 14 intervals, which blend rope-jumping, partner drills, fitness games, relay races, core work and stretching. It ‘improves stamina, agility, coordination, strength, balance, rhythm and burns calories at a very high rate, typically around 12 per minute,’ says Tim. Bringing out your inner child, it’s also a terrific stress reliever. Where do we sign up!?
