L-plates, feather boas and shot glass necklaces are all associated with typical hen parties, but if you’re looking for a hen party you’ll remember – one that’s not stained by blurry Sambuca shots – we have a classier alternative that’ll leave you with a feeling of joy and no regrets. Here’s the alternative hen party you need to know about…

ROOTED London hosts hen parties that incorporate relaxing yoga and nourishing food, but the best part is that alcohol isn’t banned, so it’s cheers all round! Founder Pandora Symes’ mantra is Listen to your body, feed your soul, which sounds good to us.

Yoga has so many benefits, including increasing blood flow in your body, boosting your immunity, and probably the best one for a bride-to-be… it calms your mind – so you can just enjoy your day instead of worrying about seating arrangements and wedding favours. And you don’t need panic if you don’t know your downward dog from your baby cobra – there’s no need for you and your fellow hens to be yoga pros. The parties are suitable for beginners to intermediates.

The yoga style taught is ‘Vinyasa Flow’, which is all about continuous movement and matching that movement with your breathing to leave you feeling energised with a strong sense of grounding.

Parties can be tailor-made, additional extras can include meditation, gong healing, holistic treatments from Reiki and energy healing to acupuncture and massage.

If that’s not enough, there’s also tarot card readings, Reiki healers, nail art, and flower headband arranging. Goody bags can also be arranged, with raw treats, yoga discounts, beauty products and more. And a ‘bride blessing’ can also be added, which is similar to a marriage blessing.

With all of that going on, you’ll sure be ravenous and the ROOTED London feast is an absolute treat. Some of the dishes on offer include: courgette with a raw vegan cashew basil pesto, herbed green spring quinoa salad, and a raw cacao feast, which is a cashew and lavender raw shortbread base with an avocado and cacao topping, served with raspberries. All of the food is sustainably soured from local suppliers and rooted in nature to nourish your body from the inside out.

Now all you need to decide is how long to spend here! You can do a half-day with a morning yoga session and brunch, or really pamper your mind and body with a full day of activities. If the evenings are more your thing, that is even an option for that. We just want to spend a whole week here!
