If you love fitness, but haven’t heard of the Insanity workout, you must have been living in a cave for the last year or so. No, really! Absolutely huge in the States, and ridiculously popular over here (The DVD has sold more than 2.5 million units), this high-intensity workout DVD has helped to transform the world of home fitness.
The DVD promises to get you a year’s worth of results in 60 days – and if its consistent popularity is anything to go by, it gets results. Check out the website for some impressive before and after pics.
But now – fans of the DVD rejoice! – Insanity has also launched real life Insanity classes, in collaboration with Soho Gyms.
These high-intensity classes are designed to get your body working to its max with high-intensity intervals, dynamic body weight movements and a focus on both strength and endurance. The 30-second intervals ensure you’re giving it your all on every single move, with minimal recovery time. But the variety of the moves – burpees, side lunges, tuck jumps, press-ups – mean you never get bored.
The sessions are broken down into three key sections – endurance and plyometrics, strength and balance, agility and co-ordination – to ensure you hit every body part and every element of training. These are also followed up by an intensive core and abs section at the end.
If you want to burn up to 1,000 calories a session and show off a honed and toned bod in just 60 days, this could be the perfect workout for you.
It’s hard work and it’s a total-body workout, but it’s also great fun. Want to check it out for yourself? Head to Soho Gyms or invest in the DVD – you won’t regret it.
