How to spice up your Pilates practice

Chair Pilates

Already taking the US by storm, the Pilates chair – or Wunda Chair as Joseph (Mr Pilates) called it – is a super-hot workout right now. Although originally created by JP himself, it’s recently been receiving a revival in various mainstream studios. So what is it? The chair consists of a reformer seat complete with a foot-bar with attached springs for resistance. The beauty of the chair is that it works for everyone and caters to a wide set of needs, from professional athletes to adults in their 60s; post-rehabilitation to athletic conditioning. The chair is also extremely effective in creating sport-specific programmes for skiers, runner and bikers (to name but a few), due to its intensive attention to the legs, which in turn delivers amazing results.
