Everyone loves a bit of Pilates, don’t they? While we hop from spin sesh to HIIT class to marathon training, it works as a small breath of calm in between the madness. As the man himself, Joseph Pilates, explained: ‘The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning develops the body uniformly, corrects posture, restores vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit.’ Such benefits are those that even the fittest, strongest, healthiest athlete could do well do master, for they are principles that lie at the core of every movement we undertake. ‘If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old. If it is completely flexible at 60, you are young,’ Joseph went on to say.

So often, even good workouts become boring workouts if we don’t mix them up enough so if you haven’t tried the following out yet, what are you waiting for? Here’s how to spice up your Pilates practice.
