Straight one-leg deadlift
An exercise borrowed from athletics training, this works for general fitness as well. Start with a light dumbbell either side of your feet. Push your hips back, extend your leg straight back and pick up the dumbbell with your hand on the same side. Push your hips through and pull the dumbbell up while returning your extended leg to the ground. Repeat on the other side.
