Fitness first has come up with five different heart monitor-based classes, to optimise your workouts and ensure you are working out at the right intensity level for you. These are:
Move Better
Aimed at beginners, this class will have you working out at 65 per cent of your personal heart rate capacity (HRC). You’ll get fitter but won’t get on too much of a sweat.
Fat Burner
This session is suitable for all, working at 70 per cent of your HRC. It’s a circuit-based session that will help you burn fat and increase your endurance.
Pro Athlete
If you really want to start pushing yourself and your heart to 80 per cent HRC, this class will have you jumping and sprinting to get your heart pumping.
Cardio Fit
Working to gradually get you to 85 per cent of your HRC, this does what it says on the tin. It’s a cardio based workout to push you to work a bit harder than you might normally.
HIIT Pro
Not for the faint-hearted, this HIIT Pro class will have you working to 90 per cent of your HRC, through high intensity dynamic exercises and short periods of recovery. Test yourself with this class and smash your targets.
