In order to keep your body in balance, your diet should comprise 80 per cent alkaline-rich foods and 20 per cent acidic. ‘Fertility relies on the environment of the sperm to survive in an alkaline environment and high protein diets will make the body over-acidic. Taking stimulants, alcohol and processed foods also makes the body acidic, which can have an impact on implantation,’ says pregnancy and fertility expert Zita West. Increase alkaline-forming foods like fresh fruits and vegetables to boost your chances of conceiving.
