4. Kayaking

Burn around 296 calories per hour kayaking. If you’ve ever sweated it out on your gym’s rowing machine, you know a good stroke is the key to rocking a strapless dress all summer long. And while you wouldn’t necessarily think that a seated workout would tone your lower body, a better bum and thighs are among the biggest benefits of kayaking. By squeezing your glutes for turning, balancing, and as a source of power, you tone your lower body. For the best workout while paddling, keep your back straight and rotate your torso with each stroke. A great place to sea kayak is on the west coast of Scotland where there are sheltered sea lochs to provide breaks if paddling on the open sea gets too difficult. Remote deserted beaches also make for perfect lunch stops. Check it out here.
