Let’s face it, even the best playlist can get old after a few runs (Rocky soundtrack included) – what you need is a fresh sound, so we’ve found 5 of the most powerful podcasts for boosting your health, fitness and wellbeing.
There’s nothing worse than going on a long run without anything to listen to, and we think podcasts are the answer. Ones such as Lazy Girl Running provide a commentary to your run, which is great if your gym buddy has decided to give today a miss. You’re also more likely to be motivated to go further if there’s a voice that’s got your back – podcasts can provide that all-important extra bit of motivation to boost your workout.
If you’re like a lot of us and struggling to get that all-important REM sleep, podcasts can help this too. Sometimes just the sound of someone else’s talking can help you drift off, or if this isn’t enough, podcasts with meditative features can induce a deep sleep. We recommend featuring Yoga Nidra or Binaural Beats, which have been proven to help regulate sleeping patterns.
Podcasts are also great to listen to on your morning commute, as a form of energy-inducing motivation, or just as a way of passing the time with a funny sketch. Whatever your choice, simply download to your phone or other device and go! What’s more, most are completely free. What’s not to love?
