Here’s how you can join the Windsor Running Festival.

If you’re a running enthusiast, and particularly one that loves the challenge of a half marathon, why not take your fitness goals and ambitions into this autumn’s Windsor Running Festival? The September event will be a full weekend festival on royal grounds, surrounded by regal heritage and British history.

For running lovers from all over the region, the Windsor Running Festival will take place on the weekend of September 24-25 in the picturesque surroundings of Windsor Great Park.  The weekend will include the Running4Women Windsor 10K on Saturday 24 September and is ideal for those who are taking on a new 10K challenge for this year.  The event will offer training plans and tips in the build up to the race from UK middle distance runner, James Thie, so you’ll get all the support you need to be your personal best.

Running4Women will be a friendly, female event, one that you can take part in with your friends and family, while enjoying the scenic views of the park. For our experienced runners, this is also a traffic- free run that will feed your urge achieve a goal this autumn.  We mentioned family, so included in the Women’s 10K is the ‘Generation Game’, for mums and daughters who are running together – a great bonding experience and team work. The game will include prizes for the pair that crosses the line with the fastest combined time, so get your game on!

If you are familiar with the Windsor Half Marathon, Sunday 25 September will see the event returning to the Great Park for its 17th year. In addition to this year’s 2016 event is the MacDonald (Windsor) Hotel CorporateChallenge, which gives businesses/organisations a chance to compete in teams of four, while raising funds for local charities. So if you’re looking for a team event to do with your work mates, this could be the talk of the office and an achievement to boast about first thing Monday morning.

Also watch out for familiar faces! TV and radio personality, Chris Evans and his Radio 2 Breakfast Show Yawn Patrol will also be taking part in the event.
