‘It’s vital to ensure you have enough energy to complete the training and that you get the most out of everything you do,’ says Nina. ‘While having a healthy balanced diet is important for any runner to help cope with the extra demands that training exerts on the body, taking supplements and sports drink can also be helpful for some individuals.’ Nina adds: ‘The trick is deciding what you need and when, and often this is very subjective…if in doubt seeing a sports nutritionist can be really helpful.’
