4. Invest in coaching

Coaches aren’t just for elite runners! ‘Any runner should benefit from having a programme, specifically designed with their needs and abilities in mind,’ says Nina.

‘Although there are many excellent free programmes available, having one designed with progression based on feedback, coupled with results should help produce a better end performance.’ A coach can also help you improve your running form, which often equals more speed, and who doesn’t like the idea of that?!
