Sweet potatoes
Manganese and copper are needed for healthy muscle function and sweet potatoes are the perfect way to get them into your diet. They are also high in complex carbs, making them a must-eat food for runners.
Sweet potatoes are also an excellent source of vitamin A, which is essential to help your immune system stay in tip top shape, so pesky coughs and colds don’t interfere with your training. Vitamin A can also help with eyesight in the dark, but sadly not to the point you become a superhero.
