5 foods to eat that'll boost your marathon training

Wild salmon

One of the best foods to eat to get your omega-3 fatty acids is salmon. It contains two of the most important essential fatty acids (DHA and EPA), which have many cardiovascular benefits and help reduce inflammation.

Farmed salmon can lose some of its nutrients, as most of the fish are fed with food that doesn’t always give the fish the nutrients they would get if they were eating in their natural habitat, so wild salmon is generally better.

Salmon also packs a protein punch. As protein repairs and rebuilds tissue damage, it’s vital to consume enough protein when you are endurance training, otherwise your body could start breaking down muscle.
