This week, we caught up with the brains behind the new fitness fashion website stylepb.com, Natalie Dale, to talk style, performance and mince pies!

Q. What made you decide to set up Style PB?

A. I was training for the London marathon and couldn’t find stylish sportswear. After a lot of research I found some amazing brands but couldn’t find a site where I could buy them all in one place.

So I decided to start Style PB to bring them all together and make the shopping experience easier. I also wanted everything to be beautifully packaged and delivered to the customer quickly.

Q. What do you think makes an awesome workout outfit?

A. Two things, style and performance. You need to look good to feel good and have the confidence to workout. Secondly you need your outfit to perform so you can work hard without worrying about see-through leggings or your sports bra not being supportive enough.

Q. What piece of kit are you secretly hankering after right now?

A. How to answer that! The Lucas Hugh Octane legging because they are amazing! The HPE coral hoodie because it’s so soft and cosy and perfect to wear to and from the gym. And lastly the Michi indigo bodysuit because you could literally go from the gym to the bar in this!

Q. Have you always been into health and fitness?

A. Yep! I danced a lot when I was younger, starting Ballet at three. Then I moved onto a lot of running in my teen years and in my twenties I started to develop my love of yoga. I’m one of those people that actually gets excited about going to the gym. Health is also hugely important to me and I loved learning about it. The China Study is a great read for anyone interested in health and nutrition.

Q. What’s your favourite workout?

A. Probably a long run by the Thames, followed by some press-ups and then a nice yoga stretch. I would then generally follow this with brunch with the girls!

Q. What’s your favourite thing about your job?

A. Meeting so many amazing women along the way and getting to spend my life in leggings.

Q. Who’s your fashion and fitness inspo?

A. Fashion-wise I tend to take my inspiration from magazines, films and people on the street. I do however love the style of fashion editor Laura Fantacci. Fitness inspo – there are so many women to be inspired by! Whether it be the woman in the spin class next  to me or a GB athlete. At the moment I’m hugely inspired by Team SCA, a team of 11 women competing in the Volvo Ocean Race.

Q. What’s your secret to staying healthy over Christmas?

A. Get your exercise done in the morning. That way if you do give into a mince pie or drinks with colleagues you can feel great knowing you’ve already worked out and earnt it!

And at Christmas parties make sure you drink one glass of water for every alcoholic drink and even more water before bed.

Q. What exciting new fitness wear brands should we be looking out for in 2015?

A. I love The Upside for its beautiful prints and great fabrics. I’ve also just discover a great British brand but I’m keeping the name a secret, so watch this space to see them soon on Style PB.

Q. What are your goals for 2015?

A. I have quite a few! To make Style PB the best it can be for stylish sportswear; to learn to rock climb; to improve my Italian and use it; to inspire more women to get into sport, especially young girls; to read more; and to learn to code.
