2. Eat foods rich in zinc

Zinc might get less exposure than vitamin C when it comes to being known as an immunity booster, but this humble mineral is a must in your diet if you want to keep those sniffles at bay. ‘Zinc is a vital part of protecting the body’s immune system,’ says Lovisa. ‘This is because it stems excessive protein, which would lead to inflammation.’ To make sure you’re getting enough of the stuff, include salmon, cashew nuts and dark chocolate (yes, really!) in your diet.
