4. Not getting outside
Leaving a bit earlier and squeezing a brisk walk into your commute is a surefire way to wake you up before you head into work. It’s also a great way to hit your vitamin D quota in the darker months – even a few rays of sunshine a day is better than nothing. Studies also show that being out it in the great outdoors and surrounded by greenery is great for your mood. A study by the University of Essex found that ‘green exercise’ – i.e. being active  in green spaces and nature – can improve mood and self-esteem. City bound? Try to take in the local park en route.
