Metabolic London

Take your workouts back to the basics with new fit space, Metabolic London.

The studio

At Metabolic London they’ve taken exercise back to the basics by developing a series of workouts that will help you burn fat, build your strength and tone your muscles. It may sound too good to be true, but this simple concept really does deliver fantastic results. There’s no DJ grooving in the corner here.

Metabolic London was founded by ex-premier league hockey player Lawrence Hannah, with investment from shareholder and former Olympian Denise Lewis. The studio has put together a team of elite trainers that will motivate, encourage and spur you on to surpass your greatest expectations. Not only are these trainers highly experienced, but they’re also very approachable and most importantly, they know what they’re talking about when they give you expert advice.

You can find Metabolic London’s 4,000sqft functional training space in Greater London House in Mornington Crescent. The studio opened very recently so they only have the one location for now, but they’re already making waves on the fitness scene with their intense and effective workouts. So fingers crossed there are more studios to follow!

Metabolic London have a variety of different classes on offer, all effective at boosting your overall fitness levels. Here’s the lowdown on what you can expect when you give their classes a go:

Metabolic Signature

Metabolic Signature requires grit and perseverance, as it combines HIIT and strength exercises. This class will be especially appealing for anyone who wants to burn fat fast, but in a manner that’s sustainable.

Meta-Row

Meta-Row is London’s very first boutique rowing class, and it’s been turning quite a few heads since its launch. The class consists of both row and total-body circuit intervals, with a total of four rounds. It’s tough, to say the least, but so worth it for the post-workout high.

Quick HIIT

Metabolic London appreciates that many people have very little time to fit exercise into their schedules, which is why they’ve created Quick HIIT. This 30-minute lunchtime workout will give you an endorphin rush that’ll last for the rest of the working day.

Meta-Circuit

The Meta-Circuit class feels reminiscent of school P.E. class – minus the scratchy skirts. Working in teams of three to four, the team environment and air of competition will have your adrenaline soaring as you make your way through exercises in the circuit.

Viking Method

If you hadn’t guessed by the name of the class, the Viking Method is designed to help you unleash your inner warrior. This class focuses on increasing your body’s strength, speed and agility. It brings cardio and resistance-based exercises together for a fierce workout.

Calisthenics

This strength training class requires you to use your own bodyweight – expect a series of gruelling exercises, including pull-ups, push-ups, dips, muscle-ups, handstands, flags and levers. Sounds like fun to us!

One class costs £20, a five class package costs £95, a ten class package costs £180 and a twenty class package costs £340. Personal training is available from £60. For more information, visit metaboliclondon.com.
