Are you looking to try something new for your workout this summer? How about taking your workout to the bar? Introducing London’s first Xtend Barre studio, a stylish new studio located in the heart of Marylebone’s high street, featuring fitness classes that will get your heart pumping and body grooving with a unique twist.
Discovered in Florida nine years ago by professional dancer and Pilates instructor, Andrea Rogers, Xtend Barre emphasises a new style of working out that strengthens and lengthens the body’s physique. And by popular demand, the revolutionary international fitness class has launched itself across the pond on London’s Marylebone high street. Far from tutus and ballerina tights, Xtend Barre is a stimulating form of exercise that combines dance and Pilate movements, creating an adrenaline-fuelled formula that sculpts the body proportionally through it’s intense exercises. Each class features an elegant yet energetic combination of movements that enhance flexibility, improve balance, and challenge the core.
Catie Miller, former professional dancer and performer, is the founder and owner of Xtend Barre’s UK studio. Miller thoughtfully designed the two exercise studios to offer guests a superior workout experience. She explains that “after testing and trying many methods in and around the globe I knew Xtend Barre was the brand for me. London is a dynamic and extremely cultured city in which I am not only investing into a strong brand but I am more importantly investing into wonderful people.”
Whether you have a background in dance or have never stepped foot in a studio before, Xtend Barre welcomes people of all abilities. As long as you have a desire to challenge yourself and work up a sweat, that’s all that is required to achieve a dancer’s grace. However, don’t be fooled by the Polly Pocket weights, expect your muscles to be burning throughout the energetic movements led by Xtend Barre’s highly motivated team. The toning is paired with stretches and Pilates techniques that elongate the muscles to help you stand taller.
What makes Xtend Barre unique is the variety of different class styles available for people that like to mix up their workouts. You’ll be guaranteed different movements each time to accelerate your performance on the bar! The 55-minute total body workout serves to strengthen, lengthen and stretch the body from head to toe. As well as the signature workout, 12 additional variations of classic Xtend Barre method will be on offer in the London space, including classes that incorporate elements of yoga, reformer Pilates and Tabata/HIIT training.
The Xtend Barre London flagship exudes an exquisite style that seals the high end stamp of approval. You’ll be greeted with polished studios and a charming atmosphere and rest assured you’ll be left in the good hands too. “Xtend Barre is run by highly motivated and talented women. This has been my driving force and I hope to inspire more women, just as I have been during my new career journey”, says Miller.
If this wasn’t enough, a relaxation area and juice bar serving delicious, healthy juices and shakes to clients after their workout, is available to nourish your body after breaking a sweat. There is also a retail space offering a selection of fashionable workout gear provided by retailer Active in Style, which includes exclusive Xtend Barre merchandise. The changing rooms offer clients lockers, shower facilities, hair appliances, body washes and hair care products.
