Kobox teams up with Nike for new training shoe
Nike has collaborated with boutique boxing studio Kobox in the release of the new Nike Air Zoom Strong 2 Kobox shoe.
Don’t take part, take over
Being a collab between a global sportswear giant and one of London’s most talked about boutique fitness studios, it seems apt that the tagline for the Nike Air Zoom Strong 2 Kobox is #DontTakePartTakeOver. Nike has never been one to follow trends, instead choosing to set them. This rings true when it comes to design, technology and partnerships.
Kobox, dubbed ‘fight club meets night club’ also knows a thing or two about breaking the mould. Their high-octane classes fuse together boxing and resistance work to the backdrop of a dark room, flashing lights and an energetic soundtrack with a motivational instructor to boot. Its formula has created quite the buzz around town.
Style and substance
How many fitness studios have you seen team up with leading sportswear brands for its own shoe? We’ll wait…
Don’t be fooled by the pretty face though. This shoe isn’t all talk. We can only imagine the trials and tribulations involved with developing a shoe that will see you through a minute of burpees while also having your back when it comes to the quick steps, pivots and side to side of boxing footwork. But the Nike Air Zoom Strong 2 Kobox has it nailed: not only are these shoes super comfy (we suggest going down by half a size to get that proper secure fit) but the superior support and cushioning is noticeable from the get-go. There’s also just enough traction when you move from side to side at speed, as well as forwards and backwards. Thanks to the ankle strap, you’ll feel secure from round one – without any compromise of flexibility.
The Nike Air Zoom Strong 2 Kobox (£104.95, nike.com) is available now.
